The Sounds Lyrical Project is developing a repertoire of songs which both illustrate the power of the project bringing poets and composers together to create new and exciting songs and creating new repertoire for classical singers to perform. Songs with an interesting back story and to which audiences have positively responded to.
Singers are encouraged to consider these songs for inclusion in their recitals. They are good songs, and in addition to their musical and poetic credentials, many of the songs have a context making them suitable for fund raisers and awareness concerts or just to allow the performer to themselves bring issues to the attention of audiences.
If you are interested in including any of these songs in your programmes please in the first instance contact the composer who will be delighted to share the songs with you.
The list is divided into two parts, the first part lists material where the lyric and music is written by a Sounds Lyrical member and the second part is where either the music or words are written by another.
